Goals



  • Have you made a decision to change? Yes
  • What are your reasons for making the decisions to change? I am unhealthy. I want to look good for myself and not be embarassed to meet people. Right now it is hard to get up.
  • When you look at yourself, do you honestly like what you see? No! I look like a whale.
  • How do you feel deep down inside? miserable - unhappy - no confidence
  • Are you confident, energetic, and strong? not at all
  • Do you often wonder if you're on the right path? yes
  • What are the pros and cons of continuing in the direction you're going? pros - easier cons - feel gross, look gross, unhealthy, die young.
  • Would you like to create a brighter future? yes, for me and my family.
  • What are the five most important, specific accomplishments you need to make, within the next 12 weeks for you to be pleased with the progress of your body and life? Lose the double chin I'm getting, Lose 20 lbs of fat, Wear size 18 pants, People to notice
Within 12 weeks I will lose 20lbs of fat.
Within 12 weeks I will be wearing size 18 jeans.
Within 12 weeks I won't have to distort my face to make it look good in pictures.
Within 12 weeks I will be more confident about myself!

Here we go again

In 2012 I had some life-changing events happen. I have gained back all the weight that I lost plus. I am not happy now but I remember how happy I was when I was strong. One of the life changing events caused me to have arthritis in both of my knees. I also have arthritis in my right shoulder and my right hip. I know that losing weight would help this immensely. Sometimes I have dreams that I try to stand up and I can't because my knees are too weak. So I have joined a 12-week weight loss challenge that starts today May 1st 2017. Here are my before pictures.

3 weeks

April 27 I took the pictures on the left. I gave myself a 6 week challenge to get in to this dress. I purposefully bought it a size too small. Here are the results after 3 weeks. Im half way there. I can tell a difference! 3 more weeks til the wedding on June 8.

Pumpkin Protein Shake

Pumpkin Protein Shake

1/3C plain yogurt
1/3C pumpkin protein
3/4C almond milk
1T cinnamon

Blend all together for a delicious protein shake!
1scoop vanilla protein powder

Simple Sweet Potato Soup

Simple Sweet Potato Soup

1 Large sweet potato
2 large carrots
2C lentils (washed)
1 onion
2 envelopes of chicken broth


 Peel and cut carrots, onion, and sweet potato. Combine with lentils in a large pot of boiling water until veggies are tender. (10-15mins.) Add 2 envelopes of chicken broth to the water. Blend everything in a blender and voila! Simple Sweet Potato Soup!

Avocado Soup

Curried Coconut and Avocado Soup

Ingredients:
2 (medium-ripe) avocados
1-1/2 cups vegetable broth + broth to thin as necessary
1-1/2 cups coconut milk
1 teaspoon curry powder
1 teaspoon lemon or lime juice
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Directions:
Scoop flesh from avocados and place in a blender. Add vegetable broth and blend until well incorporated. Add coconut milk, curry powder, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Blend again until smooth. Adjust seasoning to taste. Chill. Yield: 4 to 5 servings.

Hearty Lentil Soup


yield: Makes about 3 1/2 quarts
Here is an almost effortless soup. Everything goes into the pot at once, and the finished dish is just the thing on a cold winter day.

ingredients

  • 1/2 cooked ham
  • 1 pound lentils (about 2 1/2 cups), picked over and rinsed
  • 1/2 pound mushrooms, chopped (about 3 1/2 cups)
  • 3 onions, chopped coarse
  • 1 cup chopped carrot
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 8 cups water

preparation

In a 6- to 8-quart kettle combine all ingredients and simmer soup, covered partially, stirring occasionally, 1 1/2 hours. Discard bay leaf and cinnamon stick. Chop meat and stir into soup.

Back to Bootcamp

Went back to bootcamp tonight. I feel physically ill. I thought I was going to puke. Glad thats done. Now I cant stop anymore. Im gonna be sore tomorrow.

In November I got off track. Now its time to start over.
